Steven Fabijanski, PhD
President and CEO
Steve brings more than 20 years of senior executive experience within the agriculture and biotechnology industry to his leadership of Agrisoma and a background in science and the seeds business. He built and sold a seed company in the hybrid canola seeds business and has extensive hands-on agricultural industry experience. He previously ran an agricultural and biotechnology management practice where for more than a decade provided services to over 150 different organizations in the industry, ranging from long term services to a number of multinational seeds businesses, to intellectual property development and strategies, to assisting government agencies in support of regulatory policy and regulatory reforms. He is Chair of the Industrial and Agricultural Committee of Biotech Canada, Canada’s leading voice for biotechnology, a member of the Board of Directors for AgWest Bio, and has been involved in the development of policy within the emerging area of industrial biology and industrial biotechnology for a number of years. Steven is an active participant at the level of federal and provincial governments, providing testimony about the industry before the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Agriculture and Agri-Food, the Senate of Canada, and for various ministries. Steve holds a Ph.D. in Cellular and Molecular Biology from the University of Southern California, a Bachelor’s of Science Degree from the University of Miami. He holds 20 issued US Patents in the area of agriculture and crops and in his scientific career published over 30 papers.
Andre Levasseur, CA / CPA
Chief Financial Officer CFO
Andre brings over 25 years of experience building, leading, and advising corporations through international expansion and capital markets transactions. Andre has held CFO positions in both privately-held and publicly-traded companies with over 20 of those years in a high technology and entrepreneurial environment. Andre is currently responsible for overall financial management of the company, its financial reporting and transparency, and for multiple corporate functions including Treasury, Investor Relations, Tax and long-range planning. Andre holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Concordia University, a Graduate Diploma in Accounting and a Chartered Accountant Designation.
Patrick Crampton, MBA
Vice President, Business and Product Development
Patrick brings to Agrisoma more than 15 year’s experience in the global agricultural industry having previously served in multiple senior roles with Syngenta AG including Head of Marketing for Canada and Global Business Manager for corn and soybean herbicides based in Basel, Switzerland. Patrick has successfully lead blockbuster product launches on a country, regional and global level and is experienced in the development, positioning and launch of new technologies in agriculture. His diverse commercial experience includes marketing, CRM, sales, product development and change management. Originally from a family farm operation, Patrick brings his deep knowledge of agriculture and customer centric approach to Agrisoma as he leads the commercialization of Resonance carinata. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agricultural Economics (Honors) from Guelph University and a Masters of Business Administration from Queens University.
Michael Lindenbaum, PhD
Vice President, Technology
Michael is an experienced scientific administrator and scientific manager with over a decade of industrial biotechnology experience following over 10 years of academic research experience. Prior to joining Agrisoma, Michael was Director of Cellular Protein Production at Chromos Molecular Systems, and previous to that he was Senior Scientist in the chromosome engineering group. Michael holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and a B.Sc. (Honors) in Biochemistry from McGill University and has completed his postdoctoral training in the United Kingdom. He is the inventor on 8 issued and pending US patents and leads the technology development group at Agrisoma.
Daryl Males, M.Sc.
Director of Breeding and Agronomy at Agrisoma
Daryl brings over 20 years crop development, breeding and variety development and commercialization experience to Agrisoma. Daryl was previously Manager of Brassica Research for both the Canadian and Australian Brassica oilseed program at Viterra, developing and commercializing many new crop varieties. Previous to that he held positions of Manager of Crop Research, Manager of Oilseed & Special Crops Research and Senior Brassica Breeder at the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool. Daryl holds 7 patents on crop breeding and crop improvement and has numerous publications in the area of crop variety development. Daryl holds a M. Sc. Plant Breeding and a B. Sc. in Agriculture from the University of Guelph, and is a highly experienced expert in crop testing, evaluation and crop production.
Mejda Lortie, Ph.D
Director of Regulatory and Government Affairs
Mejda has extensive experience in government affairs and a deep scientific background to support her regulatory activities. Previous to her position with Agrisoma, Mejda was Director, Agricultural and Environmental Policy & Industry Relations at BIOTECanada. Previous to this she was Manager, Private-Public Stakeholder Relations at the Cooldonia Group Inc, New Caledonia following roles with Agriculture Canada and Georgia State University. Mejda has a Ph.D., Soil Environmental Chemistry from Laval University, Canada, a M.Sc. from Gent University, Belgium and a B.Sc., Agricultural Engineering from the National Agricultural Institute, Algeria.
